Detailed Itinerary

1. Your Arrival

Upon reaching Kochi, a local agent will greet you and arrange for a transfer to your accommodation. You have the remainder of the day to explore this charming city. Kochi, once a major destination on the Spice Route, is now a tourist destination featuring buildings from the colonial era, Raj homes, and a beach region well-known for its Chinese fishing nets. Take a stroll along its picture-perfect streets or take part as an optional activity to learn Kerala’s ancient Kathakali dance, which is renowned for its ornate costumes. Spend the night at your hotel or homestay.

2. Kochi

Go on your discoveries in Kochi today. You can choose to take an Anglo-Indian cooking class, go on an optional guided walking tour, or explore on your own. Opt for our “The Village Experience”, where our guide takes you outside the city, where a local family in a nearby hamlet takes you for a fantastic fishing excursion and a catered lunch. Night, Sleep at the hotel after dinner at Forte Kochi.

3. Kochi to Munnar

Wake up early, breakfast as we head to Munnar. Excursion to the well-known hill station Munnar in the Western Ghats as we stroll into the mountains. Used to be the South Indian summer retreat for the British Empire, which lies at the meeting point of three mountain streams. Witness absolute serenity strolling through the tea, coffee, and spices estates. Discover more about local agriculture by visiting the Tata Tea Museum or simply unwinding in these tranquil surroundings. The evening is yours at the Windermere Estate or with the local family. Ancient Indian Martial art form sessions can be optional.

4. Munnar

This morning, take an included tuk-tuk tour around some of the region’s numerous tea farms in this age-old, three-wheeled rickshaw to get off the beaten path in Munnar. As you venture deeper into the area’s rural environs, with undulating fields and picturesque mountain slopes as a backdrop, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with locals. Or, if you’re feeling particularly energetic, consider signing up for the optional Letchmi Hills walk, which is a lovely stroll that allows you to explore the area’s sceneries on foot. At Windermere Estate, spend the night.

5. Munnar to Thekkady

Wake up and have breakfast. Head towards Thekkady, widely known for its spice plantations and the initiation point to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. This protected park, which is nestled in the middle of the jungle, is home to a wide variety of animals, including bison, sambar deer, leopards, lion-tailed macaques, and tigers. Spend the rest of the day exploring nearby areas individually or with our tour guide after settling into your hotel. Spend your night at the hotel.

6. Thekkady

Breakfast and ready to experience the village life around you while hiking the Periyar Bouquet Trail. A guided jeep tour of the Kumily region and a stopover at a local family to learn the significance of cultivating spices in the area. Opportunity to converse with the regional farmers with tea & roast fish snacks while you discover more about sustainable agricultural methods used by them for centuries. Enjoy the evening at your leisure. Spend the night at the hotel.

7. Thekkady to Kumarakom

Breakfast at the hotel. Head to explore Kerala’s well-known backwaters as you travel to Kumarakom, which is surrounded by lush coconut palms and undulating rice paddies. Situated near the shore of the Vembanad Lake, the community features canals where houseboats navigate the waters, and it’s a great place to go birdwatching at the neighbouring Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and on the local islets. As you have the remainder of the day off, either relax in the resort or learn the local Kumarakom village life culture. Spend the night in the resort after dinner at Coconut Lagoon.

8. Kumarakom to Alleppey

Possible early Morning wake up, breakfast then hop on a traditional style houseboat for a typical Keralan experience. Have the entire day and night cruising the area’s shimmering backwaters. Before as you spend your night on board, you see local towns along the way, marketplaces, and fishing fleets and discover all that this fantastic place offers knowing about the life on the water. Everything is served, including freshly caught lake fish cooked in traditional style with the regional ginger and pepper. Sleep the night at our Houseboat.

9. Alleppey to Mararikulam

Morning, you get off the houseboat as you breakfast, choose to take a walking tour of the nearby town of Allepey, quietly popular as the “Venice of the East” due to its charming canals. Visit a coir weaving workshop and learn how coconut husk as a material is been put to use, later explore the town’s ornate mosques and temples. Make your move to Mararikulam in the afternoon after lunch. The little-known Marari Beach lapped by the Indian Ocean, is located in the little seaside fishing community. This magical place where you will be spending your night at the cottage is surrounded by fruit trees, lily ponds, and coconut plantations. Dine and spend the night at your resort.

10. Mararikulam

This day is for you to self-explore as it is your last day. Before you travel tomorrow back to your country, stroll through the village with our guide, gaze at the fishermen’s lifestyle and how they bring their catch from the harbor, converse with the villagers being our travel guide and your interpreter or take lunch on the Marari beach with the cocktail or the sweet coconut water. Dine with our local tour guide and later spend the night at your resort.

11. Departure

Your journey ends this afternoon as you drive towards the Cochin airport for your next destination to uncover.
