As Amber fort holds 11-kilometer-long never-ending rampart, which was built in the sixteenth century by Raja Man Singh and resembles the Great Wall of China in several aspects. The entire palace splits into four floors, each with a private courtyard. We pass via the Sun Gate, which faces east and is used by the maharajas and their distinguished visitors. This leads to the first courtyard, which is where the victory parades are held.
As you walk past one of the few courtyards you witness a lovely hammam that boasts breathtaking views of Maota Lake below, as well as its island garden, Saffron Garden, which was built utilizing the iconic Mughal star-shaped geometric architecture. Famous worldwide as one of the most exquisite gates of the planet, Ganesh Gate leads you to the Maharajas’ private palace and is adorned with many fresco murals and India’s precious stones. The Hall of Mirrors, located inside the complex, holds a ceiling covered in mosaic mirrors and colourful glass that used to sparkle when lit by candles.

Northern India is home to some of the most beautiful step-wells, and Rajasthan is their home. It’s cool to look at the symmetrical steps! Most of the remaining step wells were built for recreational purposes in addition to storing water.
This was because the well’s base offered relief from the noon heat, and this effect was amplified if the well was covered. In addition, stepwells were used for religious rites and social meetings.
While each well has its unique beauty and allure, Panna Meena ka Kund is the only one we visited that wasn’t constructed of grey stone. It is located around a 20-minute drive from the city of Jaipur in the centre of Amer Village, next to Amber Fort.

Jal Mahal is a breathtaking site, situated within the stunning Man-Sarovar Lake! The five-story structure, which was constructed in the 1750s, was not intended to serve as a palace at all. At the time, Madho Singh, the emperor, only intended to use it as a hunting lodge and a location for his duck hunting excursions.
Four of the five stories are submerged when the lake is full. The palace is exclusively accessible by invitation, so visitors may only take in its splendour from a distance. On your route from town to the forts, you’ll pass by Jal Mahal, so take some time to unwind there. Enjoy a coconut while taking in the picturesque view of the palace and the lovely birds.

Gatore Ki Chhatriyan, the last resting place of the Jaipur Maharajas, is nestled within verdant surroundings in the foothills of the Nahargarh Fort. There is an enormous amount of material to peruse, as each Maharaja gets one cenotaph built in his honour. The Hindi term “Gaye ka Thor,” which means “resting place of the departed souls,” is where the name Gaitore originates.
It’s kind of like a graveyard, but yet, this was one of the favourite spots in Jaipur. First and foremost, due to the exquisitely crafted tombs, but also to the serene atmosphere and near absence of people.
